Residential extension and alterations

Tucked away on a private drive off Unthank Road, this former Victorian Coach House was initially converted to a basic, functional dwelling in the 1990’s. However, its current owners required additional space and more modern comfort and convenience for their retirement. Hence, we designed a single storey ‘L’ shaped extension that wraps around the existing structure and provides a new glazed family area at one end, a new master bedroom suite at the other, and a glazed link that connects the two spaces and also other adjoining rooms. A bespoke oak and glass staircase leads up from the kitchen area, along a glass landing with views back down into the open plan living area and through to a guest bedroom with new zinc clad dormer windows and vaulted roof.
